(These are the names of the four peaks that shelter our home – Mt Fyffe, Mt Uwerau, Mt Manakau and Mt Te Ao Whēkere)

Tae pīwaiwaka i te hōtoke noho hāneanea ai

Waimarie, aue waimarie…

(Warmer is the nest here at our home than those in the mountains, the Fantail arrives every winter to sit comfortably during the colder months, fortunate, oh so fortunate – are we to witness this)

(The Paradise Duck moults in completion in the Autumn, their cry is that of warning, the loyal and faithful Paradise Duck; {this acknowledges the fact that they have only one partner for life}, fortunate, oh so fortunate – are we to witness this)
