Korey Gibson V Scott Macgregor - ISKA NZ MMA Lightweight (70kg) Title - 2013

This was my final MMA fight in May 2013, just 1 month shy of my 36th birthday, when I was cutting weight 48hrs before, the ambulance was called to my room in the middle of the night as I was in really bad shape for an unknown reason, 24hrs later - post the weigh-ins, I was taken to hospital for severe dehydration, I wasn't the fastest on fight night, but the mind was still strong and the heart very willing. Scott MacGregor was an awesome adversary and I appreciated sharing the cage for the last time with a competitor like him - NZ's #1 wrestler and accomplished MMA fighter. For me I was able to win my 3rd title - but my first NZ title which meant a lot to me. My whānau was happy to see me finish - although, I still think I can "have one more". Enjoy e te whānau.
